i'm still not over jordan catalano

I wish I could say I'm so over Jordan Catalano. But the truth is I came across this photo the other day, and it made me happy, and kind of nostalgic for a simpler time of curfews and flannels and landlines and burnt orange hair dye. You know, when teens were awkward and full of angst and wore baggy clothes because it was lame to make it look like they put that much effort into their outfits. Sigh.

It also made me realize I must have this t-shirt:

Here's what Angela and Jordan look like these days:

  1. I never watched My So-Called Life, but everyone's obsession with it kind of makes me want to go back and watch it now.

p.s. I love that last picture- they have gone in such different directions in the past few years!

  2. I've always thought Jared Leto was hot but I was sadly too young to enjoy My So-Called Life and understand it.

  3. I need to go back and watch it. I wasn't allowed to when it first aired. But young Clare Danes was so precious! I like em better in flannel.

  4. I loved this show and definitely feel nostalgic everytime I see a picture like this. I thought it was so well written and was able to capture the subtle things about high school and being a teenager without falling back on all of the over-used stereotypes. I can rattle off the names of each character like it was yesterday - probably because they always referred to each other by first and last name (even when talking to someone who clearly knew the other person). For example, Angela always referred to Sharon and "Sharon Chersky" when talking to Rayann. Same thing with Brian Krackow. Ricky Vasquez. And of course, Jordan Catalano. Sadly though, I think that if you went back and watched it now, it wouldn't conjure up the same feelings as it did when we watched for the first time as 15 year olds.

  5. Me either. I was so in love with him back in the day! (Really should have been a sign that I wasn't attracted to the best type of guy at the time lol)

  6. I just went back this summer and watched the show again when I wasn't like 8 years old. It was great and Jordan Catalano was beautiful, but so tragic. Do you remember that he couldn't read?

  10. I loved My So Called Life! I actually met Jared a couple of years ago. He's so much shorter in person, which I didn't expect. He still has the most beautiful eyes though!

  12. OMG I need that shirt. I was so in love with him when I was thirteen, but when I watch it now I just think he is such an ass and Angela really should have given poor Brian a chance. I am such a grown up now!

My life is made up of kissing....and not kissing...if only it were still so simple.

  19. I just bought and watched the box set and can confirm that Jordan Catalano still makes me swoon. I thought I would be immune to his powers by now and instead I'm more obsessed than ever. I seriously need one of those Tshirts.

  20. Haha! Found this via your Tiramisu Cupcakes post. Jordan Catalano is equally yummy. Too bad one season is all we got of him. My two big loves, Don Johnson at age 4 and Jordan Catalano at age 13. Oh, I mean three big loves. Don, Jord, and the husband-to-be. I'm sure he'll let that one slide.
