So I'm not the biggest J Crew fan. Once and a while, I'll find a cute sweater and I do like their corduroy trousers, but I often find myself perusing the catalog and laughing at how ridiculous it's gotten. I mean, seriously? (Flip to the end of the collection and you'll see the "gallery overalls."
a) If any store is going to try to make overalls cool again, it's not you, and b) if i'm gonna kick it old school and wear a pair of overalls, I'm not spending $168 bucks on them at J Crew.
But anyway, despite the fact that the Rachel Bilson/Brian Reyes-designed dresses above make me happy, I decided to go with J Crew bridesmaids dresses to make this as easy and low-maintenance as possible. Order a few in the same color and see which ones you like best. No group fittings or alterations.a) If any store is going to try to make overalls cool again, it's not you, and b) if i'm gonna kick it old school and wear a pair of overalls, I'm not spending $168 bucks on them at J Crew.
In the meantime, I came across this giveaway from a dress shop I've never heard of called Swoon Dress - how appropriate would that have been - on The Bride's Cafe and thought these dresses would have been much more of what I was looking for. Sigh.
But maybe YOU can win three dresses from Swoon Dress. There are lots of pretty options, so check them out, and if you like them, you should enter. That way, I'll live vicariously through you when you win.
Here are the rules:
The contest runs March 1 to April 30th. Brides-to-be must submit a written statement (enterme@swoondress.com) explaining why you adore your bridesmaids, what they mean to you and why you picked them. Good luck!
