kitchen art

My kitchen is so drab, but we - fine, he - already painted the dining room, so I think the kitchen will remain the way it is for awhile. I'm talking white walls, white cabinets, black and white floors. I'll try to take a better photo tonight, so you can fully understand the drabness. In the meantime, I'm looking for fun, colorful prints to spice it up. Which ones do you like?

I think these are sweet, but not sure if they're bright enough...

I do love me some owls...
This painted bunting is adorable...

Or, I could go with something along these lines to really brighten things up, and red goes nicely with black and white floors...

Images found here, here, here, here and here.

  5. you are SO darling. i just read your comment about sweet little lemon. she is SUCH a tough old pony so i'm feeling good today that she might be on the upswing. and yes, download muzzle of bees! the instrumental crescendo at the end is spectacular.

and your hubby roasts you chickens? keep him. period.

and we have that shep fairey print in our kitchen, which is especially ironic, because my husband is an infantry officer in the marine corps (who knew, right?) and i'm an artist (which you've obviously figured out by now). so there is an equal amount of war-making and art-making in our household.

  7. Fist, I don't agree with your kitchen being drab. I've actually been really craving clean, white spaces, and you have some pattern with the floor, which is great.

My personal vote goes for the Make Art Not War poster - but you should put up whichever makes you happiest, since it's your kitchen.

(Other options: How about a vintage mirror with a fat, chippy red frame? Or a giant clock? Or a great piece of found art at a thrift store - like a carnival sign? Or an old chalkboard?)

So fun. The options are endless..!
